Olives seasoned according to a traditional Sicilian recipe

Seasoned olives (or crushed and cunzate olives) are a typical Sicilian preparation, used as an appetizer or side dish. During the harvest period, each family used to prepare them according to a recipe handed down from generation to generation in order to preserve them throughout the year.

Our crushed and seasoned green olives Denocciolata & Cunzata represent a challenge, that is, the desire to introduce enthusiasts to the intense and lively flavour, the turgid and “crunchy” pulp of this wonderful fruit of nature: the Nocellara del Belice , the same cultivar that we use for our olives in brine and in our extra virgin olive oil.

Our olives are harvested at the beginning of the olive oil campaign, when they are still green and firm, preserved in brine, pitted and seasoned with extra virgin olive oil, together with celery, oregano, chilli pepper and garlic.

Pitted olives, stored in the jar together with the dressing, in addition to maintaining all the flavor of green olives, absorb all the aromas of the ingredients that flavor them to obtain an explosion of taste and aroma. Olive lovers will discover with this product a new way to savor them.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE : the crushed olives seasoned "Denocciolata & Cunzata" can be consumed as an aperitif or as a side dish, they are excellent to accompany savory cheeses such as Pecorino Siciliano. They are ideal to add, together with their seasoning, to a rice salad or cold pasta. Try them on a focaccia barese or a bruschetta of rye bread.
