The world of cocktails is constantly evolving. In recent years, the trend of creating alcoholic drinks based on extra virgin olive oil is becoming more and more popular.


A new trend is in the spotlight: mixology, the art of mixed drinking, an art based on the ability to create a harmonious balance between all the ingredients, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, which are combined in a glass to create an original cocktail.


To prepare cocktails with extra virgin olive oil we can use two methods. The first uses the fat washing technique, which involves an initial infusion phase, followed by freezing all the liquid and then separating it: thanks to this process the perfumed and aromatic part of the oil is passed to the drink. The second method, on the other hand, is the emulsion with liqueurs, obtained by creating air bubbles with an aerator, through which you can obtain a single liquid

In this way the two elements bind together, and what is obtained can also be safely used in mixing.


These techniques, together with the use of oils with different fruity flavors, allow you to create some of the most varied and imaginative cocktail recipes.
